Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana seeks a qualified Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will work with a multidisciplinary team following established policies.

Requirements include an Associate's degree, current state license, NBRC RRT, BLS, and ACLS within 90 days. Candidates must have data-entry skills, clear communication, and the ability to work 24/7 in a dynamic hospital

Qualifications

• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• NBRC-Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient with Windows-based software and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician.
• Delivers care appropriate to neonatal through geriatric patients.
• Adapts communication to the patient population and setting.
