Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the night shift to support mechanically ventilated patients and provide essential respiratory care across campuses.

Responsibilities include intubation assistance, bronchoscopy support, arterial blood gas analysis, and ventilator management. Requires MA license, NBRC RRT, and 2+ months to achieve credentialing if a new graduate.

Qualifications

• Current MA respiratory license.
• New graduates have 2 months after hire date to become a registered respiratory therapist.
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
• Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in Respiratory Care.
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support or equivalent.
• Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation - Memorial Campus.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care; ACLS; PALS.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and supports patients on mechanical ventilation and provides respiratory support.
• Assists physician/anesthesia during intubations and bronchoscopy procedures.
• Establishes treatment plans and modifies therapy per department protocols.
• Obtains arterial blood gases and analyzes gas results.
• Sets up and monitors ventilators and related equipment.
• Coordinates airway carts and participates in code airway response.
