Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver diverse respiratory care and arterial blood gas analysis across patient ages. You’ll perform ventilator management, ABG sampling and high-flow therapies, while documenting care in the EMR and supporting quality initiatives.

You will work a day shift, with responsibilities across perinatal to geriatric patients, and participate in ongoing competencies and teamwork within the Respiratory Therapy department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved school of respiratory care.
• Licensed in the state of Massachusetts in respiratory care.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers (BLSHP).
• Maintenance of CEUs as per licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service.
• Documents all care activity and charges in the hospital EMR.
• Participates in department and hospital performance improvement activities.
• Operates arterial blood gas machines and analyzes ABGs.
• Sets up and uses mechanical ventilators and high-flow oxygen therapy systems.
• Handles disinfection, transport and setup of respiratory care equipment.
• Adheres to hospital standards of behavior and completes annual competencies.
