Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform a wide range of respiratory diagnostics and therapies for adults and neonates. You will work under supervision in a busy, accredited facility with a strong commitment to patient care and safety.

Expect 7pm-7am shifts with any 3 days of the week, requiring current BLS/ALS, Texas license, NBRC registration, and hospital-based experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning.
• Administers aerosol and humidity therapy and airway maintenance.
• Interprets ABG, PFTs, ECG and chest radiographs.
• Operates and troubleshoots ventilators and related equipment.
• Maintains infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Uses patient assessment to guide therapy decisions.
• Documents and reports on cardiopulmonary procedures.
