Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, TX seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for night shifts (12x3) to provide a range of respiratory therapies and diagnostics for adults and neonates. Duties include ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and oxygen therapy under medical direction.

Required credentials include a respiratory care program graduate, BLS, ACLS, and Texas licensure; NRP required within 1 year. 6 months' experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed by Texas Medical Board as Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, IPPB, and airway maintenance.
• Perform and report arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Use critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assemble and troubleshoot CP equipment such as ventilators and gas analyzers.
• Participate in infection control, safety, and quality assurance tasks.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of CP equipment and areas.
• Utilize customer scripting to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as required.
