Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas County seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care for adults and neonates. The role covers ABG, PFT, ventilator support and aerosol therapies under supervision, with emphasis on assessment and patient safety.

The position requires Texas licensure, NBRC registration, BLS/ACLS, and 6 months of experience in respiratory care.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Current Basic Life Support certification required.
Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, aerosols, humidity therapy and ventilator support.
Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, and pulmonary function studies.
Conducts bedside respiratory assessments with patient history review.
Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
Maintains and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
