Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide adult and neonatal respiratory care, ABG analysis, PFTs, and ventilator support. The role requires engaging in bedside assessments, chart reviews, and coordination with medical staff in a 314-bed acute care teaching hospital.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program with Texas licensure, NBRC registration, and BLS/ACLS; NRP/PALS to be obtained within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner and NBRC Registered.
• NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy and bronchial hygiene.
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and related CP equipment.
• Conduct ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs as prescribed.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data.
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance.
