Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center seeks a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform a range of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including ABG analysis, PFTs, and ventilator support for adults and neonates. The role requires NBRC-RRT registration, Texas license, BLS/ACLS, and within one year NRP/PALS completion.

You will work under the department director with a focus on patient assessment, airway management, and maintaining CP equipment, ensuring high-quality respiratory

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support— must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, and chest physiotherapy.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluation with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Uses critical thinking to determine actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Assembles and maintains cardiopulmonary equipment and performs routine maintenance.
• Contributes to infection control, safety, and quality assurance.
• Performs other duties as required.
