Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 36-hour, three 12-hour shifts per week schedule (7a-7p or 7p-7a). You will provide individualized nursing care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit serving adults with urology, nephrology, trauma, and colorectal surgery needs.

You will work in a team-oriented environment, coordinating admission, transfer, and discharge care, and ensuring safety and quality through the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license in good standing.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required within 6 weeks of hire.
• Ability to provide individualized nursing care using Nursing Practice Act and policies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients.
• Maintain safe patient handling techniques.
• Continuously evaluate patients and provide ongoing treatment.
• Educate patients and families on care needs.
• Guide healthcare personnel in caring for patients.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment setup and safety protocols.
