Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut seeks a Registered Nurse for the A4 pre- and post-op inpatient surgical unit. You will provide compassionate patient care using the nursing process, assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate care for surgical and medical patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires a BSN preferred, at least one year RN experience, an unrestricted CT license, and BLS on hire; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
