Job summary

Backus Hospital in Voluntown, CT, seeks experienced Registered Nurses for a 7:00 pm–7:30 am, 36-hour weekly role on A4 pre/post-op surgical unit. Rotating holidays and every other weekend required. The unit provides care from general surgical to orthopedic, bariatric, GI and women’s health.

The RN will assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and monitor outcomes as part of a collaborative team. BLS mandatory; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in CT.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process.
• Develops and implements a plan of care based on patient needs.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems and evaluates care.
