Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 7:00pm-7:30am shift on a 36-hour weekly schedule with rotating holidays and every-other-weekend requirements.

The unit delivers high-quality perioperative and surgical care, including orthopedic, bariatric, GI and women’s health patients. A BSN preferred candidate with CT RN license and BLS certification is desired; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• One year RN experience and/or Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through nursing processes and nurse-patient relationship.
• Assesses patient problems, develops a plan of care, implements and evaluates care.
• Communicates effectively with departments, physicians and patients; maintains confidentiality.
