Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a 36-hour weekly night-shift unit (7:00pm-7:30am) with rotating holidays and weekend requirements. You will provide nursing care using the nursing process, build nurse-patient relationships, and ensure patient safety.

Requirements include nursing diploma/degree (BSN preferred), 1 year RN experience or nurse residency, current CT RN license, BLS, and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience or completion of Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license to practice as an RN in Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify patient problems/needs and establish a plan of care.
• Implement and evaluate nursing care for patients.
• Develop a synergistic nurse-patient relationship.
