Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse for the A4 surgical unit. The night shift runs 7:00pm-7:30am for 36 hours weekly, with rotating holidays and every other weekend obligation.

The unit handles general, orthopedic, bariatric, GI, and women's health patients and emphasizes patient- and family-centered care. Ideal candidates hold a Connecticut RN license, BLS certification, and preferably a BSN; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
