Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a registered nurse for the CDH Medical Care Center 4B. This full-time nights role is 36 hours per week (0.9 FTE), with 7pm–7:30am shifts and rotating weekends.

You will care for adults with general medical and medical oncology conditions on a 24-bed unit. The ideal candidate holds an Illinois RN license, ADN with commitment to BSN within three years, and demonstrates strong communication, collaboration and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois
• ADN acceptable with commitment to BSN within three years of first day of employment
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• BLS certification required or within required period

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops an individualized plan and coordinates care
• Directs care and determines appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in direct patient care
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff to document an outcomes-focused plan
• Participates in shared governance, committee work and unit projects
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and documents progress in the health record
• Uses current evidence to guide nursing practice and adheres to ANA standards
