Job summary
Northwestern Medicine's CDH Medical Care Center 4B in Illinois is hiring a Staff Nurse Inpatient for full-time night shifts, 7pm–7:30 am with rotating weekends. This 24-bed unit serves adult general medical and medical oncology patients, ages 18 to geriatric, and follows ANA nursing standards in assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
You will collect data, create and implement care plans, and collaborate with families, physicians and staff to achieve outcomes.
Qualifications
- BSN is required; ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years of employment.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license or license eligible.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
- Familiarity with adult general medical and oncology care is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Collects and analyzes patient data to develop an individualized care plan.
- Directs care and coordinates with any nursing assistants.
- Collaborates with patients, families, physicians and ancillary staff.
- Documents patient responses and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
- Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
- Uses evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
