Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our general medicine unit on a 2X12 night shift. The unit cares for acute-care patients with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio and a wide range of conditions in a 24-bed setting.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, assess patient needs, document care, and mentor junior staff while ensuring patient safety and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Education/Training: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Alabama RN license or valid eNLC license; BLS; ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC as required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop/revise an individualized plan of care.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain patient safety.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team and delegate tasks when appropriate.
• Provide compassionate patient and family advocacy and education.
• Support professional development and contribute to unit goals.
