Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join the general medicine unit on nights. The RN administers patient care in an acute care setting with a 24-bed unit and a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio; this role involves caring for adults with conditions such as heart and kidney issues, infections, and postoperative recovery.

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Licensed as an RN in Alabama or with an equivalent eNLC license.
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification; ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC as required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

Assesses patient’s needs and develops/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses.
Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner meeting all required and regulatory standards.
Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
