Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. is seeking a production quality technician for the night shift to ensure GMP compliance, sanitary conditions, and product quality on the production floor. You will collect samples, verify packaging and labeling, and assist with SOPs while coordinating with multiple plant departments.

You will review ingredient quality, participate in safety inspections, and support continuous improvement initiatives, including training new hires and adhering to company values.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Maintain a positive and engaging attitude towards colleagues at work.
• PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 1+ years of food manufacturing or quality assurance preferred; Experience with GMPs; Basic computer knowledge; Ability to work independently or in a group; Ability to read and interpret documents; Ability to calculate general mathematics; Ability to apply common sense in instructions.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safe work practices and GMPs, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures product quality.
• Attends and actively participates in daily shift huddles and handoffs.
• Collect in-process and finished-product samples for analytical and microbiological quality checks.
• Verify packaging, labeling, temperatures and other specifications to meet customer and company standards.
• Inspect incoming ingredients for quality and safety.
• Assist in drafting and maintaining plant standard operating procedures.
• Act as liaison between Production, Distribution, Sanitation, Maintenance and Quality to address quality issues.
