Job summary

CertainTeed, a Saint-Gobain company, seeks a Production Supervisor I for our 24/7 manufacturing operations. You will lead hourly staff, ensure safe and efficient production, and drive continuous improvement through Lean and TPM initiatives.

You will report to the Production Manager or Plant Manager and work a 12-hour Pitman schedule with a focus on safety, quality, and employee development. Only local candidates eligible for Texas manufacturing roles considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, lead operator, or team leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, military, or related environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, coaching employees, and driving performance results.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and commitment to creating a safe work environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with the ability to evaluate information and implement effective solutions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise hourly production employees to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Foster a strong safety culture by conducting shift meetings, enforcing EHS requirements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Set performance expectations, provide coaching and development opportunities, and support employee engagement and accountability.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and developing production team members.
• Ensure employees receive appropriate training and follow established operating procedures and work instructions.
• Investigate safety, environmental, quality, and operational incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and other operational excellence programs.
• Maintain workplace organization and housekeeping standards throughout assigned production areas.
• Review and approve employee time records and ensure accurate payroll administration in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, quality, reliability, and overall plant performance.
