Job summary

CertainTeed is seeking a Production Supervisor I to lead hourly teams on the 2-2-3 shift, ensuring safe, efficient production aligned with quality and cost targets. You will coach staff, manage performance, and uphold environmental, health, and safety standards across the plant.

You will also oversee training, timekeeping, and disciplinary actions when needed, while supporting continuous improvement and adherence to site policies and union guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 5+ years manufacturing production experience required.
• Previous supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred.
• General understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001 required.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise hourly production employees on safe and efficient operation of line equipment.
• Lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance with safety/environmental/health policies.
• Communicate & document employee expectations and assess performance; provide coaching and development.
• Assist in evaluating and selecting hourly employees during hiring processes.
• Oversee training to ensure operators follow SOPs and work instructions.
• Assist in root-cause analysis and implement countermeasures for production losses.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and ensure accurate timekeeping/payment per site policies.
