Job summary

Johnsonville is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate activities in sleeving, stuffing, packaging, and palletizing areas, ensuring safe, efficient production and strict adherence to SQF, GMP, and USDA requirements.

The role requires leadership experience in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment, strong communication, and the ability to manage stocking, equipment setup, and daily sanitation tasks.

Qualifications

• Must possess effective interpersonal communication skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Facilitator with identifying temporary worker staffing needs on a weekly basis based on the production schedule.
• Enter new temporary workers in the hours tracking database and instruct workers in its use.
• Greet temporary workers and communicate the assigned job at the start of the shift.
• Assist with pre-shift communication meetings and facilitate production activities for safe operations.
• Verify equipment setup per established parameters and assist with operation/maintenance of equipment.
• Provide backup support to production shift personnel as needed and resolve equipment problems with maintenance and operators.
• Ensure supplies meet production needs and monitor quality with hourly performance reporting.
• Promote safety and food safety compliance and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
