Job summary

Southern Champion Tray in Chattanooga, TN is hiring a Press Feeder/Second Press Operator to safely set up and operate the press, ensuring quality product at target speeds. The role supports the press team, monitors sheets for defects, and maintains cleanliness and safety in a loud manufacturing environment.

Qualifications include a GED or higher, basic English comprehension, and math skills for measuring; physical ability to lift 25–50 pounds; and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand English; communicate directions in English.
• Basic math skills including fractions and decimals; use a tape measure.
• Physical ability to lift 25–50 pounds and stand for 8 hours.
• Willingness to work overtime and in a dusty, loud environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews job ticket instructions to determine printing specifications, machine set up procedures, and supplies needed.
• Follows job ticket instructions; informs supervisor of missing information for setup.
• Stages stock and prepares materials for next job at the feeder.
• Loads feeder; checks sheets for defects; ensures proper setup and operation.
• Assists in washing up press, cleaning trays, and disposing of waste.
• Maintains supplies at the press and reports maintenance issues to operators.
• Ability to perform the Second Press operator’s duties in absence of the operator.
• Maintains a clean work environment per Food Safety and 5S standards.
• Prefers safe operations and follows all safety policies and guidelines.
