Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in Fairhope, AL is seeking a contract Phlebotomist for 3rd shift (8:30pm–7:00am), 10-hour shifts, Monday–Friday with rotating weekends. The role includes performing blood draws, labeling and handling specimens, centrifuging, and maintaining patient data accuracy.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of phlebotomy experience, state-certification, and a High School Diploma or GED. You will work in a fast-paced lab, follow OSHA/DEP regulations, document results, and support workflow

Qualifications

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
High School Diploma or GED and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures and protocols.
Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Ensure proper labeling, centrifugation, packing and transport of specimens; check all test requisitions against scripts for accuracy.
Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
