RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Recovery Specialist at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. The role provides non-clinical support, develops individualized recovery plans, and educates patients and families on recovery models to build a supportive network for ongoing care.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, four years of recovery experience, and willingness to travel within a 60-mile radius.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience in recovery principles that help individuals improve health and wellness.
• Willing to travel within a 60-mile radius of the assigned hospital for cross coverage when needed.
• Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) certification within 6 months of employment.
• Bilingual ability and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients with non-clinical support and build trust using lived experience.
• Document client history in the electronic health record per IFPR guidelines.
• Create individualized recovery support plans based on needs and results.
• Connect clients with non-clinical community resources to support recovery.
• Serve as a positive role model for clients, families, and staff.
• Educate on navigating treatment and social services and coordinate care with hospital staff.
• Empower individuals to make self-directed recovery choices.
• Facilitate recovery support meetings and groups to engage participants.
• Complete timely documentation to support grant compliance and continuity of care.
