Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Boardman Inpatient Pediatric Unit. This full-time role (36 hours per week) runs 7:00pm to 7:30am and is onsite, focused on family-centered care for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities include assessing and directing nursing care, collaborating with the team, and supporting quality improvement and safe patient care. A BSN and Ohio RN license with BLS are required; 1 year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current Ohio RN license required.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by department.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care focusing on family-centered care.
• Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs across pediatric patients.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties within the unit.
• Perform patient-centered care duties and participate in quality/safety initiatives.
• Support education for staff; may mentor/ precept new employees.
• Collaborate with providers and teams to promote efficient operation and quality care.
