Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit. The role involves providing patient care, assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting RN staff on a full-time schedule. Certification in BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Candidates should have HS Diploma or equivalent and may meet eligibility via CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT, or related clinical experience. Location: Suffolk, VA.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• BLS within 90 days of hire (Required)
• 1 year healthcare experience (Preferred)
• Certification programs/credentials listed in the ad are acceptable for eligibility

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
• Assist with mobility, ambulation, and safety.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Assist with EKG testing and IV/ catheter care as needed.
