Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Short Stay Unit. This full-time night shift (7p–7a) provides patient care, assists with daily living activities, monitors vital signs, aids mobility, performs phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and specimen collection under the direction of an RN.

Requires HS diploma or equivalent; BLS within 90 days of hire. Acceptable programs include CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, Sentara Care Partner Certification, or related clinical

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Sentara Care Partner Certification, CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, EMS/EMT/Paramedic or related programs accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient status.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation; observe for changes in condition.
