Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician for a full-time night shift in Suffolk, VA. The role supports a general medicine unit, working under the supervision of registered nurses to deliver patient care and assist with admissions and discharges.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma or equivalent, relevant certification programs, and BLS. The position offers a 36-hour weekly schedule with rotating weekends and opportunities for advancement within Sentara Health.

Qualifications

• HS – High School Grad or Equivalent.
• Sentara Care Partner Certification Program or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related credential.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes and ensure patient safety.
• Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes.
• Follow unit protocols and documentation practices.

Education

HS – High School Grad or Equivalent

Sentara Care Partner Certification Program / CNA / NCMA / NCPCT / US Navy Hospital Corps School / EMT/Paramedic — or clinical student in RN/LPN/RT/PT
