Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA, is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit, on a full-time night shift (7A–7P) as indicated in the listing. Qualified candidates have a HS diploma or equivalent, Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire, and healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire is required.
• Experience in healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Observe and document patient conditions, reporting changes to RN promptly.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG testing and specimen collection.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion and removal.
• Support independence and mobility of patients and ensure safety.
