Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role supports daily patient care, data collection and coordination with licensed staff on a busy 36-bed unit.

Night shifts from 6pm-6:30am with rotating weekends and holidays, plus an 18% night differential when applicable. Previous PCA/LNA/CNA experience is preferred but not required; BLS and CNA licensure in-state are required for new hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current CNA/LNA license in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and contribute to the overall plan of care.
• Collect patient data including vital signs and intake/output; document in medical records.
• Report changes in patient status to licensed staff.
• Assist with procedures and use of equipment under supervision.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain patient records and ensure chart forms are complete and accessible.
• Inventory and manage supplies and equipment used in the unit.
• Assist with patient transport and post-operative transfers as needed.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service.
