Job summary

Banner Health seeks a Certified Patient Care Assistant for the Orthopedic/Spine unit at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. The PCA will care for a variety of medical, surgical, orthopedic and trauma patients on a 30-bed unit, in a fast-paced environment focused on excellent patient care.

The role requires completing routine patient care, data collection, and record-keeping. It offers a full-time schedule with a generous sign-on incentive, and opportunities to grow within a large hospital

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA in state of practice required for new hires.
• 1 year medical clerical experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic hygiene.
• Collect vital signs and input/output data; document in medical records.
• Report abnormalities to a licensed professional and communicate patient status.
• Assist with procedures and prepare supplies under supervision.
• Maintain patient records and coordinate department communications.
