Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join the Observation Unit in Phoenix. The CPCA will support patients requiring short-term care, work with RNs, and participate in maintaining charts and providing routine care in a fast-paced unit.

This full-time day shift runs 7am-7:30pm with self-scheduling tools, an 18% night-shift differential, and a $1/hour weekend differential. Sign-on bonus of $3,000 is available for qualified CNAs/LNAs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA/LNA certification in state of practice required for new hires and transfers.
• Experience in medical clerical tasks and basic ECG/EEG knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort.
• Record vital signs and collect data per unit policy.
• Communicate patient status to licensed professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform procedures and operate equipment under supervision of licensed staff.
• Support unit operations including receptionist/clerical duties and charting.
• Maintain patient records and ensure proper filing of reports and orders.
• Assist with supply management and equipment tracking.
• May transport patients as needed and participate in OR turnover where applicable.
