Job summary

Indiana University Health, Inc. is seeking a Part-time Night Shift Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care and support to patients.

Duties include assisting with drinks, meals, walking, baths, and providing clean linens and gowns, while reporting vital signs and changes to the RN. Our PCAs work in a fast-paced, award-winning hospital system, emphasizing safety with gait belts, bed and chair alarms, and staying within arm's reach of patients to ensure rapid

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards for care.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to handle high levels of tension and stress.
• Ability to prioritize and manage a high workload.
• Knowledge of infection control principles.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks and assist with meal ordering.
• Encourage walking and assist with baths.
• Provide clean linens and gowns for patients.
• Obtain vital signs and report changes to the RN.
• Maintain patient safety with gait belts and alarms; stay within reach.
