Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) for a full-time night position. The PCA provides compassionate bedside care, assists with activities of daily living, and supports the RNs with vital sign checks and safety measures.

As a non-licensed team member, you will help with mobility, meals, and linen changes, while maintaining infection control and patient safety in a fast-paced hospital setting. Development opportunities and competitive pay are noted benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA or completion of IU Health PCA education program.
• Knowledge of age- and developmentally-appropriate care.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards for patient care activities.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living and mobility assistance.
• Assist with meals, bathing, and linen changes to support patient comfort.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain safety with gait belts and alarms; stay within arm's reach when moving.
• Support the patient care team and ensure a clean, orderly environment.
