Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide exceptional bedside care and support to patients under a registered nurse. The role involves helping with daily living activities, mobility, meals, hygiene, and ensuring patient safety with alarms and gait belts.

The PCA will report vital signs, observe patient condition changes, and communicate with the RN or charge nurse to support rapid interventions in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or completed IU Health PCA education program.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living and mobility assistance.
• Monitor patients and report any changes to RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain safe patient environment using gait belts and alarms.
• Assist with baths, meals, drinks, and linen/gown changes.
• Support patient care team under RN supervision.
