Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to assist with daily living activities, mobility, and patient safety at the bedside. The PCA reports to the RN/charge nurse and supports the care team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires BLS certification, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining strict infection control standards. Night shift/full-time opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA) or attained during IU Health PCA education program.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate care for their patients.
• Ability to maintain concentration amid interruptions and noise.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of infection control principles.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and organize workload.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living and mobility assistance to patients.
• Monitor patients and report changes to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment and ensure infection control practices.
