Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a transport professional to move patients and supplies across the facility during the night shift. The role uses the EPIC system for transport requests and includes medication transport responsibilities.

You will assist with safe patient transfers, manage equipment and supplies, and maintain cleanliness of transport devices. A high school diploma and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes, and comprehends basic written instructions in English.
• Understands verbal instructions and can respond in English.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Requires contact with patients, visitors and staff, which involves good inter-personal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from patient areas and diagnostic/treatment centers using bed, stretcher, or wheelchair.
• Answer pages on beeper or Rover device.
• Complete transport request steps before, during, and after transport in the EPIC system.
• Responsible for transporting medication during specific patient transports.
• Assist with transferring patients using proper body mechanics and safe lift equipment.
• Transport supplies and materials from one department to another when assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of transport equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Monitor the number and placement of transport wheelchairs, stretchers, and oxygen cylinders.
• Complete yearly competency form.
