Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA seeks a Patient Care Technician for full-time night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.). The role includes patient care, daily living support, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKG testing, specimen collection, and Foley management under RN supervision.

Requires HS diploma or equivalent, BLS within 90 days, and completion of an approved CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent program; 1 year healthcare experience preferred. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• One of approved education programs listed: CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or clinical student with relevant progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support activities of daily living.
• Observe and document patient conditions; report changes to RN.
• Record vital signs, mobility, and intake/output as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG testing, and specimen collection.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and IV removal as needed.
