Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for Med Surg/Tele/Stroke. The role includes phlebotomy, EKG testing, and IV care, with a 36-hour weekly schedule on the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and either a CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related clinical program. BLS certification within 90 days is required, with 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent plus one of the listed programs or certifications.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Assist with mobility, ambulation, and comfort.
• Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, and EKG testing as directed.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and specimen collection.
• Adhere to patient safety practices under RN supervision.
