Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees Township, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN. You will support the healthcare team and communicate with patients and families while upholding high professional ethics.

You will perform basic care tasks, monitor patients, help with vital signs and documentation, and participate in education and quality initiatives as part of our care team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates required knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility and transport).
• Monitors vital signs and patient status; documents appropriately.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; communicates changes to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces patient/family education and safety; participates in satisfaction and quality initiatives.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
