Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ is seeking a part-time phlebotomy assistant to support the healthcare team. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, performing phlebotomy and EKGs if certified, and helping maintain high standards of care.

The position requires phlebotomy training/education, a High School Diploma or GED, and a BLS certification. The shift is night hours, with total weekly hours around 18, and on-site employment commitments.

Qualifications

• Must have basic patient care skills and standards.
• Strong communication skills required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care).
• Demonstrates standard precautions and safe patient practices.
• Performs vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as applicable.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement.
