Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician to assist with daily living activities and support the healthcare team in Marlton, NJ. The role requires compassionate patient care, strong communication, and adherence to safety standards.

The position involves vital signs, point-of-care testing, and potential phlebotomy or EKG duties if certified. The role supports RN/LPNs and may involve orientation of new hires in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have successfully completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility and transport.
• Uses standard precautions and isolation precautions as needed.
• Performs vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley catheter care as directed.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Reports changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
