Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York, NY is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the TH17W Medicine Unit on the Evening Shift (37.5 hours). You will assist the nurse with patient care, support the unit, and ensure a safe, compassionate environment.

The role includes performing phlebotomy, fingersticks, and EKGs, participating in education and performance improvements, and coordinating with the health care team to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; PCT program graduate or CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy training; BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care tasks and maintain unit safety and supplies.
• Assist with data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement and participate in education and unit meetings.
• Perform phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and electrocardiograms as assigned.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge procedures and maintain patient privacy and dignity.
