Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the TH14E Medicine Unit on the Night Shift (37.5 Hours). You will assist the professional nurse with patient care, support unit safety, and help with data collection and quality improvement efforts.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, PCT training or CNA with relevant coursework, and a BLS/CPR certification. You will work within NYU Langone Health’s core values.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program w/ at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate plus course completion in EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT certification eligible plus at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required upon entry to the position.
• Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

• Assists the professional nurse in the care of patients and families.
• Provides competent, safe, and compassionate care with emphasis on hospitalization challenges.
• Maintains and supports unit safety, supplies, and environment.
• Participates in data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement.
