Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic is seeking a Patient Care Technician for their Resource Pool in Harrisburg. This full-time night shift (7pm–7am) includes every third weekend and one major/minor holiday per year.

Primary duties include assisting with ADLs, procedures, and clinical documentation. The role requires 1 year of direct patient care or completion of a clinical nursing rotation, with a flexible schedule and potential starting pay variation based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-year direct patient care experience or 1 clinical semester completed during nursing school is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Document medical records according to procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate departments.
• Respond to call lights, transport patients, and support unit activities.
• Provide feedback to the RN regarding patient care and changes in status.
