Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic is seeking a Patient Care Technician for its Resource Pool. This part-time role (32 hours weekly) includes day shifts, every 3rd weekend and holiday coverage, with a 10% differential in hourly rate.

The PCT provides direct patient care, assists with ADLs, and supports RN staff in a busy hospital unit. The role emphasizes documentation, safety, and collaboration with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year direct patient care experience or 1 clinical semester completed during nursing school.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team.
• Demonstrates flexibility to work various shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs and patient procedures.
• Complete medical record documentation per procedures.
• Respond to call lights and support unit activities.
• Provide care under RN direction and report changes in patient status.
• Maintain safety policies and proper use of equipment.
