Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic is seeking a Patient Care Technician for its Resource Pool. This full-time role (36 hours/week) runs on a night shift (7pm–7am) with every 3rd weekend and one major/one minor holiday per year.

The PCT will assist with ADLs, procedure support, and comprehensive documentation, reporting to RNs as needed. Responsibilities include patient care, safety adherence, and effective communication with patients, families, and departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year direct patient care required OR 1 clinical semester completed during nursing school.
• The Resource Pool offers flexible scheduling with a variety of shift times.
• Title and starting pay rate may vary based on years of experience.
• Night shift is 7pm–7am; full-time 36 hours per week year round; every 3rd weekend and 1 major/1 minor holiday per year.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care duties including ADLs such as bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Completes medical record documentation according to procedures.
• Communicates with RN, patients and families; reports changes in patient status.
• Responds to call lights, assists with transport, and supports safety policies.
