Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Unit. This part-time, night-shift role (16 hours/week) includes every other weekend and holiday requirements, with responsibilities for ADLs, patient transport, and contributing to unit safety and care quality.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, healthcare exposure or enrollment in a health program, and completion of UPMC PCT class, with strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of general healthcare experience or enrollment in PT/OT/PA/RN program.
• Completion of UPMC Patient Care Technician class.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs and patient procedures, and transport patients.
• Document in medical records per established procedures and report equipment issues.
• Respond to call lights, pass meals, and support unit activities.
• Communicate changes in patient status to RN and care team.
• Maintain safety policies and support quality initiatives.
