Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic seeks a Patient Care Technician for its Resource Pool. The role involves assisting with ADLs, patient procedures and documenting in medical records, while maintaining safety and effective communication with patients, families, and health care teams.

Minimum one year of direct patient care or nursing school clinical rotations required; high school diploma or equivalent; CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of general healthcare experience or enrollment in PT/OT/PA/RN program with at least one clinical rotation.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ADLs and patient procedures.
• Completes medical record documentation per policy.
• Maintains safety policies and reports equipment issues.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and health care team.
• Performs unit activities such as responding to call lights and transporting patients.
